LRC Conference Travel Grants

Posted July 1st, 2005 by DJ

The American International Health Alliance (AIHA) is pleased to announce its plans to award up to five travel grants for LRC Network Association members to attend and participate in the upcoming Learning Resource Center (LRC) Project Dissemination Conference.

Information Coordinators and other LRC staff representatives from graduated AIHA partnership institutions who are currently members of the LRC Network Association are encouraged to apply. (Please note that membership of the LRC Network Association is free and can be obtained at any time prior to the application deadline of August 1, 2005, by submitting an LRC Network Association Membership Application form.)

Please note! These travel grants are not intended for currently funded AIHA partnerships. LRC staff from current partnerships in Central Asia, Caucasus, the Russian Federation, and Central and Eastern Europe will already be attending this conference and do not need to apply.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend the upcoming LRC Dissemination Conference for current AIHA partnerships, currently scheduled for September 12-17, 2005, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. All travel-related expenses including airfare, lodging, and meals will be covered by AIHA. Successful applicants, who will be expected to give at least one presentation during the conference as well as to participate as trainers or assistant trainers in one or more teaching modules scheduled during the conference, will also receive a stipend for their participation.

Applicants must propose a presentation topic for one or more of the conference themes (listed in the attached application form) and provide AIHA with a draft PowerPoint presentation for their selected topic. Applicants must also select one or more of the training modules described in the application form and indicate how they might be able to lead or assist in the training.

If you are interested in applying for this travel grant, you are welcome to contact any member of AIHA’s ICT staff to ask questions or discuss your ideas before you officially submit your application.

After August 1, AIHA staff will review all applications and attempt to select a mix of up to five applicants who best represent the various conference themes and training modules. Because of this, please note that applications that include proposals for more than one conference presentation and more than one training module have a better chance of being successful.

AIHA will try to announce the travel grant winners no later than August 12.

Best regards,

Mark Storey
